A SendGrid alternative that only does transactional email.

If you need your app's emails to go out and be accounted for, Outstamp gives you one HTTP API, without a marketing suite around it.

  • No card needed to test
  • Prices in euros, excluding VAT
curl -X POST https://api.outstamp.dev/v1/emails \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $OUTSTAMP_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "Idempotency-Key: welcome-42" \
  -d '{
    "from": "Acme <[email protected]>",
    "to": "[email protected]",
    "subject": "Welcome to Acme",
    "html": "<p>Your account is ready.</p>"
  }'

What you get instead.

  • One focused API

    Send, schedule, batch and follow transactional email. No contact lists or campaign editor to work around.

  • A tenant per project

    Each project's reputation is its own, so one noisy app cannot affect the rest.

  • Webhooks with signatures and replay

    HMAC-signed events, 10 attempts over 48 hours, and replay for 30 days from the dashboard or the API.

  • Prices in euros

    Plans from €9 a month for 10,000 emails, excluding VAT, invoiced from Portugal.

Prices side by side.

SendGrid's pricing page lists starting prices without the volume each one covers, so its row stays empty rather than guessed.

Monthly price of the cheapest plan, as listed on each pricing page, that covers each volume. Outstamp in euros excluding VAT; the others in US dollars as published, with no conversion. Checked on 30 October 2026.

SendGrid's pricing page lists starting prices without the volume they cover: Essentials US$19.95, Pro US$89.95 per month.

When SendGrid may suit you better.

We would rather you choose well than switch twice.

  • You want marketing campaigns and transactional email in one account. Outstamp is transactional only.
  • You send through SMTP. Outstamp has no SMTP relay yet.
  • You need dedicated IP addresses. Outstamp does not offer them.

Moving from SendGrid in three steps.

  1. 1

    Create a project and a test key

    Send to the simulator from your staging environment while SendGrid keeps sending.

  2. 2

    Verify a sending subdomain

    Add Outstamp's DKIM records, plus MAIL FROM and DMARC, on a subdomain. Your SendGrid records can stay.

  3. 3

    Switch the call

    Point your send function at POST /v1/emails with a live key, and check the migration guide.

Questions about switching.

Is there a free way to try Outstamp?

Yes. Testing is free with no time limit: test keys, the simulator and webhooks cost nothing, and you can send real emails to your own verified address.

Can I send newsletters with Outstamp?

No. Outstamp is built for transactional email: messages a person expects because of something they did, such as signing up or buying.

Do I need to change my DNS?

You add Outstamp's DKIM records, ideally on a subdomain. Your existing records can stay while you move.

Try Outstamp beside SendGrid, in test mode.

No card and no DNS changes until you decide.
